The Gifts of Grief: An Introduction to Action Methods training

This personal development workshop and training offers 6 CEUs by the Vermont Board for Allied Mental Health Providers. Using psychodramatic techniques and trauma informed care we will explore experientially how attending to grief and loss can create spaces for gratitude and joy. This workshop and training demonstrates ways to support safe group process and cohesion and increase one’s spontaneity. Throughout the day you will learn foundational concepts related to psychodrama and sociometry and contextualize that within a neurobiological framework. The day offers an opportunity to engage with your grief in a safe and supportive environment.

We will attend to the principles of trauma informed care: safety; trustworthiness & transparency; peer support; collaboration & mutuality; empowerment, voice & choice; and cultural, historical, & gender responsiveness.

We will discuss the different types of grief: anticipatory, abrupt, ancestral, cultural, disenfranchised grief, climate, and collective grief.

We will use fun, playful improv methods to increase our internal and external resources and one’s capacity to manage painful emotions and stress.
